Job Description

At Northwest Corp, our crane operators don’t just sit in the cab — they’re key players in a fast-moving, safety-first team that tackles complex lifts across the region.

If you’re looking for variety, challenge, and the chance to work with top-tier mobile equipment (boom trucks, truck cranes, and all-terrain cranes), this is the role for you.

We’re looking for a skilled operator who takes pride in precision, safety, and teamwork — and who’s ready to make an impact on every job site.

Job Responsibilities:

Mobilization and Demobilization: Set up and tear down boom trucks, truck cranes, and all-terrain cranes (55T–350T) at various job sites, ensuring safe and efficient transitions between projects.

Crane Operation: Operate cranes in accordance with NCCCO standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company safety protocols. Lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment as directed by supervisors or project managers.

Daily Inspections and Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-operation inspections to ensure crane functionality and safety. Promptly report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team for resolution.

Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Maintain a strong safety mindset and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Communication and Coordination: Work closely with riggers and ground crews using hand signals, radios, or other communication tools to ensure safe and accurate lifts. Collaborate with team members to execute lifts smoothly and efficiently.

Project Execution: Meet project timelines while maintaining high standards of workmanship. Pay close attention to detail and contribute to the overall success of each job.

Job Schedule and Location:

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional travel, weekends, and overtime

  • 3440 Universal Drive, Rapid City, SD, 57702

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and OSHA 10 preferred

  • NCCCO certification or equivalent crane operator certification

  • Proven experience operating mobile cranes in construction or related industries

  • Strong understanding of rigging, load charts, and crane safety protocols

  • Ability to read lift plans

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions

Employee Benefits:

  • Free Employee Health and Dental Insurance (eligible after 60-days)

  • Accident + Supplemental Insurance Available (eligible after 60-days)

  • Vision Insurance Available (eligible after 60-days)

  • 401K with 3% Match (eligible after 1 year)

  • Paid Holidays (six major holidays)

  • Employee Referral Bonus Program

  • Company Credit Card for Travel, Gas, and Lodging

  • Per-Day Per-Diem Travel Pay
