National Grid’s Customer Contact Center Representative is an entry-level, union-represented position offering a starting wage of $21.81 per hour plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, vacation, and tuition assistance. Responsibilities Handle customer contacts including emergency calls, account updates, billing inquiries and service order scheduling. Apply payments, assist with account activation and deactivation, and manage collections related concerns. Investigate and analyze customer issues and develop appropriate solutions to satisfy customer needs. Respond to all customer contacts including gas and electric investigations, complex meter situations, web inquiries, email and correspondence. Act as First Responder during emergencies such as natural disasters. Qualifications Customer Service Experience preferred. High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred. Must successfully pass Company supported assessment (HireVue), classroom training, and meet all performance expectations. Ability to multitask between multiple system applications. Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills. Multi/bilingual candidates preferred. Location and Schedule Location: Syracuse, NY. This role supports a 24/7 contact center; applicants will be assigned shifts as needed, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Pay and Benefits Start rate: $21.81 per hour, increasing to $23.03 per hour after six months of service. Shift differential of $1.00 per hour for eligible night and weekend shifts.
