Job Description

A school-based social worker position is available to support a K-5 elementary school in Aurora, IL. This role focuses on providing social work services within a dynamic educational setting that includes multiple special education classrooms. The position is a contract leave assignment, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the duration of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and special education teams to develop and implement intervention plans
• Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
• Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions
• Connect families with community resources and support services
• Ensure compliance with school policies and state regulations related to social work in educational settings

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Valid social work licensure or certification in the state
• Experience working in K-5 educational environments preferred, especially with special education populations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
