Come join the Sand Companies Accounting Team as a Senior Property Accountant. This is a full-time role with a full benefit package. Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Create and prepare financial statements by the appropriate due date each month.
  2. Create MHFA, Rural Development reports, and other agency reports required.
  3. Prepare month-end journal entries.
  4. Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  5. Prepare monthly management fee.
  6. Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  7. Perform weekly check runs, manage cash, and prepare cash projections as needed.
  8. Maintain bank accounts, timely and accurately along with reconciling monthly bank accounts.
  9. Assist in preparing and monitoring annual budgets.
  10. Maintain fixed asset addition and disposal schedules.
  11. Lead with annual audits as conducted by outside CPA firm.
  12. Oversee year-end CRP and 1099 Preparations.
  13. Review daily sales transactions.
  14. Prepare and pay sales, city, lodging, real estate and other miscellaneous taxes timely and accurately.
  15. Cross-train and fill in for other Associates during turnover, vacation, illness, or other time away from the office.
  16. Provide coaching, counseling, recognition while leading staff training efforts.
  17. Lead Special projects at the request of the Accounting Supervisors and others, as required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Accounting principles – Must have considerable knowledge of accounting functions.
  2. Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
  3. Professional Communication skills – verbal and written.
  4. Accuracy – Ability to work under pressure in meeting deadlines and produce quality work with minimal errors.
  5. Computer – Ability to use computer hardware and software including, but not limited to Microsoft Office . Sage , Yardi and/or M3 experience a plus.
  6. Organization – Proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage resources and time.
  7. Promote a sense of professionalism, positive attitude, and enthusiasm.
  8. Ability to train and mentor staff.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree in Accounting.

Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.

4-5 years of general accounting experience

Pass a drug and background check.
