Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to serve high school students in Apex, NC, for the current school year on a contract basis. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs by providing tailored instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state and federal guidelines.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the varying abilities of students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
• Utilize behavior management strategies to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
• Participate in meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification.
• Experience working with high school-aged students in a special education setting.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assessment tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
